TAK in consultation with the Marine Division of the Ministry of information, communications and tourism development (MICTTD) have determined that for any small craft to be used by tourists for that purpose must meet the required standards as specified in the Marine’s regulations.

Tourism Leisure Crafts will be assessed based on the following criteria:

• Passenger safety Equipment
• Boat Safety Equipment

The Marine Division will conduct an audit of boat based on these requirements and successful operators will qualify for a tourism leisure craft license. Licensed crafts will then receive the Mauri Mark certification which it can use for marketing and promotional purposes. Mauri Mark assessment for tourism leisure crafts will be conducted on an annual basis.
